Support IHMS

IHMS is only able to continue its work in providing strong formation programs because of the generous donations of its supporters.

IHMS has a number of different funds that people can donate to, each with its own way of helping enhance the experience of the seminarians.

Hearts on Fire is an annual appeal sent out to help with the general expense of running a seminary. This is the seminaries largest source of funding and the money received goes towards all aspects of seminary life. From reducing the cost of room and board, to the upkeep of the grounds, IHMS would not be able to operate without the Hearts on Fire appeal.

Each spring IHMS hosts their fundraising gala, the Bishops and Rector Dinner, to raise money for the seminary and give supporters the chance to interact with the men they are helping. This is a great time to meet the seminarians and staff, and experience their unique talents. Each year attendees also get the chance to mingle with other donors and hear talks from Bishop John M. Quinn and that year’s guest of honor.

IHMS has added a new fund this year in memorial of Msgr. Donald P. Schmitz, who was not only a student at IHM, but also a Vice-Rector and Spiritual Director as well. This fund was started from donations given in memorial of Msgr. Schmitz and provides funds to benefit IHM students and faculty in deepening faithful understanding through spiritual formation.

God our Father, we thank you for calling men and women to serve in your Son’s Kingdom as priests, deacons, religious, and consecrated persons. Send your Holy Spirit to help us respond generously and courageously to your call. May our community of faith support vocations of sacrificial love in our youth. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, One God, forever and ever. Amen.

Leave a legacy by making a gift to one of several endowment funds which provides direct financial assistance to seminarians, programs, or facilities. You could make a gift now or include IHM in your estate planning. For more information contact Catholic Foundation of Southern Minnesota’s Executive Director Monica Herman for more information.
